Alloys are metals with other ingredients added (often other metals) to form a stronger part. For helicopter use, alloy typically means an aluminum alloy, and is often used for rotor heads and other high stress parts.
Alloy parts are typically cut from a block using a CNC mill, and subsequently heat-treated for strength.
