Radio binding

Radio binding is the process where a 2,4GHz receiver learns which transmitter to respond to.

As 2.4GHz does not use pre-assigned channels, the receiver needs to learn which transmitter to respond to by remembering the transmitter's unique identification number. For Spektrum radios, binding is achieved by inserting a bind plug into the receiver and pressing the "bind" button on the back of the transmitter. Failsafe settings are also recorded at this time.

With Walkera 2.4GHz radios, binding is done each time the receiver and transmitter are switched on. The receiver much be switched on while the transmitter lights are still flashing.
